The Age of Stupid FREE to watch today only!

Thanks to Siel (aka Green LA Girl) for letting me know that one of my favorite documentaries, The Age of Stupid, is streaming FREE on Vimeo for a very limited time (perhaps only today). PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE watch it while you can, it is so well done and incredibly inspiring. This opportunity has expired, but please find a way to see this movie - it's amazing. : )

Girls in Tech: Impact of Tech on Green & Good

A few weeks ago I went to an event by Girls in Tech, called "Impact of Tech on Green & Good". It featured my friends Siel and Tracy Hepler, and I fellow green girls Sarah Townsend (of Social Vibe) and Sandra Sanchez.

Eco transportation

Even though I love my cute VW Beetle convertible, I recently started feeling a little guilty because I drive a car.

When I first met my friend Siel (aka Green LA Girl) she was talking about how she gave her car to a friend and now rides her bike everywhere (and takes taxis and the bus when necessary). I was so impressed that I ended up buying my own bike and now ride it when I can (meaning distance and time). I dream of one day riding it the 6 miles to work, but right now I take it to friend's places and to local stores. Check out Siel's post on eco-bike cleaner.

However, I have been riding the Big Blue Bus (Santa Monica) around town for a couple years. I take it every Sunday to my job at Third Street Promenade, and then rollerblade home.

Also, I buy my gas exclusively from Conserv Fuel in Brentwood, because I support the small business and like that they offer alternative fuels (even though I can't use them)

My first entry

I always get very excited when I find new vegan or eco things - so I decided to start a blog to share outside my friends. I have also been very inspired by some great eco blogs out there, especially one by my friend Siel: www.greenlagirl.com.

About me: I'm a filmmaker living in Los Angeles. I have been concerned about the environment since at least college, but even more so in the last few years. I became a vegetarian in 2003 and a vegan in 2004 and it has changed my life in a very positive way - so much so that I can't stop talking about it!
